Individual workers also have responsibilities under the regulations.

Individual workers’ responsibilities include:

  • Reporting Unsafe Activities: Promptly inform their supervisor or manager about any unsafe work activities or practices they observe.
  • Reporting Equipment Defects: Immediately report any defects in work equipment, such as broken or missing ladder rungs, to ensure safety.
  • Using Provided Equipment: Utilize the work equipment and safety devices provided by their employer for tasks performed at height.
  • Adhering to Training and Instructions: Follow all training and instructions related to the use of work equipment and safety devices to mitigate risks.
  • Preventing Risks to Others: Take precautions to ensure that their actions do not jeopardize the safety of others in the workplace.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, individual workers contribute to a safer work environment and minimize the potential risks associated with working at heights.
