working at heights
When work at height cannot be avoided, it’s essential to conduct a risk assessment before commencing the work.

The risk assessment should be documented and encompass the following:

  • Work Activity Details: Describe the nature of the work activities to be undertaken, specifying the location where the work will occur and identifying the individuals who have access to that area.
  • Hazard Identification: Identify the various hazards associated with the different activities to be performed during the work at height.
  • At-Risk Individuals: Determine who is at risk from each of these activities. This may include employees, contractors, site visitors, and the general public.
  • Control Measures: Outline the control measures that have been selected to either eliminate or reduce the identified risks.

Further information regarding risk assessment will be covered in the upcoming module.

By documenting these details and following through with the risk assessment, you can effectively manage the risks associated with work at height and prioritize safety in the workplace.
