Falls through fragile surfaces are the greatest cause of fatal and serious accidents when working at height.

A fragile surface is a surface that is liable to break if a person works or falls on it.

Any fragile surface on or near the work area increases the risk of a fall from height.

Examples of fragile materials include:

  • A Linear panels.
  • A Corroded metal roof sheets.
  • A Skylights.

Work at height with or around fragile roofing materials has a higher fall risk than other work at height activities. Therefore, it’s essential any work at height on or near to fragile roofing materials is given extra consideration.
