working at heights
Low-level access platforms, or podium platforms, are another safer alternative to ladders and stepladders. Low-level platforms provide safe access up to an allowed platform height of 1.5m.

Anyone using a low-level platform at work must check their equipment before each use. Before using the platform, users must check:

  • The wheels can lock and are locked.
  • The guardrails, gate and platform are in good condition.

Additionally, all employees must be appropriately trained in using the equipment before use and should be instructed to never overreach from a podium platform, as it may overturn.
