Before each use, it’s essential to carry out the appropriate checks on your ladder or stepladder. This includes checking the:
- Stiles. They must not be buckled or damaged in any way.
- Feet. The ladder or stepladder’s feet must not be missing, worn or damaged in any way.
- Rungs or steps. The rungs of a ladder, or steps of a stepladder, must not be bent, buckled, worn or damaged in any way
- Locking mechanisms. Any locking mechanisms on the ladder or stepladder must be in place and not bent, missing or damaged in any way.
