working at heights
In addition to regular inspection of equipment, it’s necessary to have a system in place for the reporting and repairing of faults. This is essential to ensure that risks are properly managed.

The WAH Regulations outline specific requirements for the regular inspection of certain types of work equipment, including scaffolding. They also require that any location where work at height will be undertaken and the equipment used is inspected before every use.

Visual inspections include checking:

  • Working platforms of scaffolding.
  • MEWPS.
  • Ladders.
  • Roof surfaces.
  • Work near openings and excavations.
